    When I make soap I try to spatula as much as possible off of all containers, then paper towel wipe as much residuals off so I don't wash all that down the drain. Then I use soap to clean off the soap. :)

    People trying to criticize you need to shut their mouths and start their own channels if they want some kind of stupid historical re-enactment crap. They are just projecting their own desires onto others and getting mad when you break their 'immersion'.

    Just found you guys! I’ve watched a couple of your videos now. At the moment, my husband and I don’t have a place of our own, but as soon as we do, we can’t wait to start planting! Keep up the great work! Also, what ice cream maker do you have?

      Haha yea, basically all green vegetables are just brassica oleracea selected for different traits. Kale, collards, cabbage, broccoli, kohlrabi, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower.

    That's incredible how much food can be produced that way! I have a question: if you plant the same number of corn, beans, and squash seeds, wouldn't you wind up with way more squash than anything else? Like, each corn stalk has several ears of corn, but each squash vine can grow dozens of squash. If you want enough corn to make cornmeal to last the winter, wouldn't you end up drowning in squash?

    • @HomegrownHandgathered
      @HomegrownHandgathered 2 години тому

      We don’t plant the same number of each plant. For about 100 corn stalks we plant maybe 200-300 beans and 10 vining squash plants

      Yea we could do a whole different one on all the tubers people consume all over the world 😊 fun fact: Polynesian people growing sweet potatoes in the Pacific is evidence that your ancestors visited South America like 800 years ago because that’s where sweet potatoes are native.

    Wheat, beans, and corn are grass? If corn is grass, why do our corn plants always die?

    • @zacherybutter7349
      @zacherybutter7349 9 годин тому

      Your first question seems like you didn’t hear the video correctly; he doesn’t say beans are a grass. Also, you seem to assume grass die(?) Which is confusing.

    • @HomegrownHandgathered
      @HomegrownHandgathered 8 годин тому

      Corn, rice, wheat, millet and oats are grass yes. And I’m not sure what you mean by why do they die? Some grasses are annual and others are perennial. Lawn grass is perennial so it survives year after year, but these grains are annual so they make their seeds in one season. Is that what you mean?
